BEES – Burm and Emily’s Elephant Sanctuary is a safe, natural home for elephants to just BE elephants.

Our humble, family-run operation is located 2.5 hours from Chiang Mai in the rural province of Mae Chaem District, Thailand. Along with our rescued elephants, we are also caretakers of many dogs and cats on the project who need our love and attention. Visit us on one of our 2 or 4 day programs and witness for yourself in a hands-off, observation-based environment how our animals roam free and happy - far from their past lives in exploitation and abuse.

Hike through some of our 300+ acres of beautiful Thai countryside, through forests, fields, and streams while learning about elephant welfare and rural way of life. Our elephants spend their days roaming freely in spacious natural areas and return to their large enclosures at night under the care of their dedicated caretakers. Meet friendly rescue animals, connect with like-minded people, and experience the heart of a vibrant rural Thai community.
